DESCRIPTION

Do you want to do the Inca Trail in less time? Our company offers you the oportunity to do this trail in only 2 days and 1 night. From the city of Cusco we will be traveling by bus and train until we arrive to km. 104, this is the place where we will start our unfogetable adventure until the inca city of Machu Picchu; this tour is designed for people that are traveling alone, big groups or small groups; the tour is in private service and for people of all ages.

ITINERARY

Early in the morning (about 4 -5 am) we come to your hotel to transfer you to the Ollantaytambo train station, where we board the train. The train winds us through the mountains and cloud forests with breathtaking scenery until it stops in the jungle at Km 104, the starting point of our trek. After crossing the Urubamba river on a footbridge, we check in with park rangers at the control point, then continue our hike to the archaeological site of Chachabamba, with an elevation of 2150m. From here we ascend a hill for about 2 hours until we reach a beautiful secluded waterfall and in a few more minutes, will arrive at the fascinating archaeological site of Wiñaywayna 2650 m (8,694.23 ft). After we explore the ancient ruins. we continue to hike through the semitropical cloud forest area, until we cross over the mountain through Intipunku (The Sun Gate) to get our first glimpse of Machu Picchu. After a short hike down, we enjoy the afternoon before we descend by bus to Aguas Calientes for a comfortable night in our hotel.Meals: Lunch, Dinner.

Today is the day you have been waiting for! We will get up very early in the morning, have a light breakfast and wait for the bus to take us up to the main gate of Machu Picchu. The bus ride takes 25 minutes and we will try to be first in line when the gates open at 6am. For around two hours, one of our passionate guides will show you around the city of Machu Picchu and talk about its fascinating history and cultural significance. After the tour you have time to explore Machu Picchu at your own leisure before returning to Aguas Calientes by bus. From here you will take the train to Ollantaytambo where a bus to Cusco will be waiting for you.Meals: Breakfast, Lunch.

  • Transport: Collection from your hotel in the morning and transportation in a private vehicle to Ollantaytambo (Where you will take the train to Km 104)
  • The train ticket: From Ollantaytambo to Km 104
  • Experienced Guide: English speaking, professionally educated, and official tour guide. Your guide will explain the culture and surroundings along the entire route. He or she will keep you safe, sound, and comfortable on your trek so that you can enjoy your time worry-free!

  • Snacks on Day 1: Our snacks consist of local fruits, biscuits, chocolate, caramels, etc. We will give this snack to you at the beginning of each day in your cloth bag.
  • One cloth snack bag per person: To avoid the usage of plastic bags that contaminate our environment, we will give you a cloth bag for your snacks.
  • Products for hygiene: Each morning, you will be provided with a warm, wet towel to clean yourself up with.
  • Medical kit: Our crew will bring a first-aid kit, including emergency oxygen bottle
  • Train tickets: From Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo (“Expedition” service with Peru Rail at 18:20 PM)
  • Transport: Private transport from Ollantaytambo train station to your hotel in Cusco (Day 5)
  • 24-hour guest service: We have telephone service available 24 hours/day for ease of communication and preparation with the agency leading up to your trek.

WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED

  • Sleeping Bags: (you can hire from our company), our sleeping bags are -18ºC-comfort (0ºF), mummy form and include a sleeping liner. They are cleaned after every use and have a maximum usage of 30 trips.
  • Walking Sticks: you can hire from our company
  • Last Day: Lunch and Dinner in Aguas Calientes.
  • Personal clothing and gear.
  • Travel insurance.
  • Tips for our staff: please note that our agency staff is well paid so please feel free to tip or not as you wish.
  • Additional costs or delays caused by management out of control like landscape,  bad weather condition,  in case of itinerary modification with a view to safety concern, illness,  change of government policy, political instability raises strike, moment etc.
